Privacy policy
Deforay Technologies built the Bizclave app as a free internal tool for members and event organizers of Benchmark Chapter. This service is provided at no cost and is intended for use by registered chapter members only.
This page informs users about our policies for the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information for anyone who uses this service. If you choose to use our service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. The personal information we collect is used only for providing and improving the service. We do not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.
Information collection and use
For a better experience, while using our service we collect the following:
- Member account information — name, mobile number, email address, business name, and business classification. Provided by the chapter administrator on your behalf.
- Visitor information — name, mobile number, email, company, designation, industry, and event attendance status. Provided by the chapter administrator from event records.
- Interest tracking — a record of which visitors expressed interest in meeting which members, captured from physical feedback sheets at the event and uploaded by the chapter administrator.
The information collected is retained by us and used as described in this policy.
How information is shared
Within the app, member information (including contact details) is visible to other registered chapter members for the purposes of internal networking. Visitor contact information is not shown to other members and is accessible only to the chapter administrator. Members can see which visitors expressed interest in meeting them, but must contact the inviting member to arrange any introduction.
We do not sell, rent, or share any personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Third-party services
The app uses the following third-party services that may collect information:
- Apple App Store — privacy policy
- Google Play Services — privacy policy
These services are used solely for app distribution and may collect anonymous diagnostic information.
Log data
When you use our service, in case of an error in the app we may collect data and information (through third-party products) on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include your device's IP address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when using our service, and the time and date of use.
Cookies
This service does not use cookies for tracking. The web app sets a single session cookie for authentication only — it expires when you sign out and is never shared with third parties.
Data retention
Member and visitor data collected for Bizclave 2026 is retained for the duration of the event and for a reasonable period afterward to support follow-up activities. Members may request deletion of their information by contacting us at the address below.
Security
We value your trust in providing your personal information and use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing (bcrypt via PHP's password_hash). Authentication uses signed JSON Web Tokens for the mobile app and HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax session cookies for the web app.
Children's privacy
This service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, contact us so we can take the necessary actions.
Changes to this privacy policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. Changes are effective immediately upon being posted on this page.
